The 2009 conference on Moral Responsibility: Neuroscience, Organization & Engineering, required an identity that would capture a wide range of issues without getting overpowering or heavy. We chose to depict the conference themes through a combination of simple pictograms, yielding a complex message with a streamlined visual effect.

We designed the identity for different uses. Rather then fixing the format we introduced three elements: 1. The title of the conference, 2. A set of pictograms, and 3. A text balloon. Any combination of the title with one or two of the other style elements provides an easy recognizable identity that lends itself well to a creative use in print and on the web.

As for the color combination we chose two use two of the colors of the 3TU.Centre for Ethics and Technology, the main institute behind the conference, to match the conference with the center.

moral-badge

The badges were designed to be simple and non-obtrusive yet easily recognizable.

By rearranging the style elements the identity remains intact, while we create a different visual effect.

Moral-Responsibility-site

The website for the conference is a one-page overlay of the (old) 3TU website. The different elements are visually lifted from the site.

moral-call

The style lends itself well for the promotion material that will be disseminated to major research institutes and universities across the globe. Again, the simple but easily recognizable style allows for this flexibility.
